Enjoying the last few days of warm weather
We were on the fence about painting,
but it turned out beautifully!
Our class had it made in the shade while
drinking juice and catching up on some reading.

Fire Prevention Week
Fire prevention week is coming up October 10th-14th. Our local fire department will be at school to teach children the importance of fire safety followed by a visit from Sparky the fire dog! Parents, please check out Sparky the Fire Dog's website with your child, it provides tons of helpful tips to prevent fires and safety tips! http://sparky.org/parentpage/parents.htm
Dental Health
Teaching children the importance of teeth brushing is very important to their dental health. This month it is extra important with all of the Halloween candy children receive. Here are four tips that will help maintain great dental health
- Always brush teeth twice a day for at least two minutes
- Floss Daily
- Rinse with mouthwash
- Chew sugar-free gum to help fight tooth decay

One important event that takes place during the month of October is HALLOWEEN!!! Here are some helpful links to help you have the safest and healthiest Halloween possible.
- Safety is very important to consider when planning for this fun filled event.. Click on this link, Halloween Safety, to get some great safety tips for preparing your costumes and safe traveling.
- To keep the horrors of the Halloween candy away be sure to practice healthy hygiene. Remember to brush and floss after eating your candy to keep those beautiful smiles. Teeth Brushing, is a helpful link that discusses why this is important as well as successful techniques to try.
It's Fall!
Cooler weather is here. Just a reminder to please switch out your child's change of clothes in his/her cubby to a warmer outfit.
Also, every student will need to wear a coat with a hood/toboggan and mittens to school because we go outside every day.
If your child doesn't have winter clothing please let us know and we can help.
